Sunday at the Queensland Museum

The space was busy enough but not as busy as the day before. Australians have plenty to do on a sunny Sunday just a week after returning from school holidays.

“Listen, your dad has waited all year for this so behave yourself or you’re coming with me.” The dad, a giant of a man, was wearing a black T-shirt with a simple, white NASA logo. He peered deeply into a display case absorbed in its contents. His errant child, quite appropriately, was wearing a similarly all-black T-shirt with a white script that said “StarWars”. The boy scampered behind a cabinet then hid behind his dad. The dad took the boy’s hand and pointed to something.

Back in the United States San Diego Comic Con is in full swing. By all accounts it is entertainment and information dense. But, by my recollection, until three months ago fewer than half of the superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe had even been to space. And only four are human.
